California Wildfires – Ways you can help

On behalf of the CAMLT Leadership Team:

Dear Colleagues,

Many of our fellow Californians are currently displaced as they are being affected by one of the most widespread and deadliest wildfires in the history of the state. Each of us give so much of ourselves daily providing quality testing services, yet many of you have asked how you can do more to help those blindsided by this drastic life change.

Thank you for always thinking about how you can uplift the patients and communities that we serve. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the fires. Below is a list of ways you can help.

American Red Cross

The Red Cross is seeking donations for the numerous evacuation centers they've opened for California residents seeking refuge. Red Cross evacuation centers do accept pets. You can visit redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

United Way

The United Way of Northern California is providing emergency cash grants to those who lost their homes and is working to connect other non-profits with survivors in need of their services.

Airbnb

The Airbnb Evacuee Program is open for hosts to volunteer free housing to victims and relief workers.

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is working across both Northern and Southern California to help provide meals to shelters. To find specific information regarding each area affected, or to make a donation, you can visit their site here.

GoFundMe

GoFundMe has compiled a list of verified GoFundMe campaigns to help victims of the fires. If you can't decide on a campaign or want to help more than one, you can also donate to their Direct Impact Fund, which supports a number of campaigns connected to California fires.
