The Pasadena Hilton 2022 CAMLT Convention, September 9th - 11th was a really big success. It was such a wonderful feeling to see old friends in person again and learn from the best of the best. We had 15 units of CEUs on a variety of topics. The Student Forum was a real hit with students from various training programs attending.
Scholarships and stipends from CAMLT Education and Research were awarded and everyone enjoyed the keynote speaker, and other presenters.
We had a wonderful time at Fun Night, which was the 60’s theme “come together” and the outfits worn by the guests were quite the attraction! The night included karaoke and who knew that CLSs could sing so well?
The Lab Pac Luncheon which featured Senator Anthony Portantino (D, Burbank) was a real treat, discussing his roll as a state senator over catered lunch. The Installation Banquet featured delicious food and again, a time to socialize. The House of Delegates session that included a comprehensive report from our great lobbyist, Russ Noack, was interesting as well.
We have welcomed some new faces onto our executive board and the coming year promises to be one of focus and progress. Welcome to Marc Bernaldez as our incoming President-Elect. Welcome to Cheryl Jackson Harris as our new District IV consultant. Welcome to Joyce Ma as our new treasurer and welcome to Kyneshia Aslanian as our new secretary. Congratulations to our Convention Committee spearheaded by Ilene Dickman and Alan Wolfe.
More than ever I have great confidence in our organization and our leadership, who will take us into the future. We are already making plans for another convention in October 2023 in the Bay Area. Let’s all look forward to another amazing experience.
