Description: Responsible for hematology, chemistry, parasitology, coagulation, and immunology on a variety of species.  Work is performed in a clinical laboratory setting supporting medical research.  Independently plans and carries out the procedures necessary to complete the analysis, handles problems, and corrects errors.  Uses theoretical knowledge to design new protocols or assays with regard to new species or procedures or to enhance existing testing protocols.

 

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a related scientific discipline or in medical technology, plus six months related clinical lab experience required; ASCP or California medical technologist (CLS) license required.  The following are also preferred: Veterinary hematology experience, Misys/Sunquest commercial lab software experience, general computer skills i.e. Word, Excel, etc.
