WELCOMING
RECEPTION / EXHIBITS - Friday
The 2009 Exhibits will open
Friday afternoon. This is a great opportunity to see what's new in
laboratory testing. Meet the vendors and visit with friends old and
new in a relaxed atmosphere. Exhibits continue midday on Saturday.
EXHIBITS
- Saturday
After your morning seminar or meeting, come to the Exhibits Hall in
the Cypress Room to talk with vendor representatives. See what's new
in the laboratory field and discover some new ideas for your laboratory.
STUDENT
FORUM - Saturday
Laboratory students in affiliate programs all over California have
been invited to present poster sessions or power-point presentations
featuring their trainee research projects. All CLS, MLT, CPT and
Special License students, as well as undergraduate students with an
interest in laboratory science, are invited to attend the Student
Forum. All convention attendees are welcome to come enjoy the
presentations and see that the future excellence of California
laboratories is assured.
Fun-Nite
Discovery Costume Ball - Saturday
Time to practice up for Halloween. Put on your thinking caps -
we would like all comers to show up in costume. Remember our
"Discover Your Future" theme. Perhaps dress like the
explorers who discovered new lands or scientists who discovered new
science (i.e., Galileo, Pasteur) or the royals who supported the voyages
of Christopher Columbus (i.e., Isabella & Ferdinand). Who says
"Lab Techs" have to be dull? A pasta buffet dinner will
give you energy for the Costume Parade, which will decide the best
costumes. Yes, there will be prizes.
LAB-PAC
WALK / RUN / STROLL - Sunday
Work off the Fun-Nite pasta dinner with a brisk early morning walk,
run or stroll on pathways near the hotel. Clear your head for a day
at workshops or the House of Delegates. The Walk/Run/Stroll raises
funds for CAMLT LAB-PAC.
LAB-PAC
LUNCHEON - Sunday
The Annual LAB-PAC Luncheon provides an opportunity for our
Legislative Advocate, Kathy Rees, to introduce a local legislator to our
group. The talks given by legislators in the past have shed light on
various aspects of the legislative process, and reminded us why we must be
ever alert to legislation that affects our profession. Stay tuned
for the name of the speaker for this year's event. Don't forget to
come prepared to give financial support to our own CAMLT LAB-PAC.
INSTALLATION
BANQUET - Sunday
The flourish at the end of the 2009 Convention will be the
Installation Banquet. On Sunday evening the newly elected members of
the CAMLT Board of Directors will be installed. We will hear a
wrap-up of the year's activities from Rebecca Rosser, CAMLT President for
2008-2009. The award for CLS of the Year will be presented.
Relax with friends as you enjoy a delicious dinner.
